An evening of whisky
Friday night saw me at a whisky tasting, organised by the same friend who organised a tasting last year which I blogged about here.
It was a very fun evening – dampened only slightly by the miserable Scotland performance on telly in the background – in which we tried five rare or unusual malts, from either limited edition output or closed distilleries.

My favourite was definitely the fifth one, and I bought the remains of the bottle – a beautiful cask strength Laphroaig. The smoky Islays are not to everyone’s liking, but I do like the peaty ones.
One day I’ll get to Islay, I hope, to visit its many distilleries.
