Esperanto

I am a more or less fluent speaker of the international language Esperanto. Noted for its simple structure and beautiful sound, Esperanto is a relatively easy and highly enjoyable language to learn, speak and write in. I started learning it in September 2011, and achieved a basic fluency in a matter of two or three months. A more accomplished fluency took a little longer (and arguably I am still not fully there), but since I started I have had the chance to use the language both at home and abroad.

I’ve split my Esperanto content into two pages – posts in English about the language, and posts in Esperanto about a whole range of things (including an occasional series of travelogues in the magazine of the Scottish Esperanto Association). If you’re new to Esperanto, see how much you can understand by comparing these English sentences with the Esperanto translation below.

Esperanto
